Let me get right to the point. No one should take their health for granted. Most people
take better care of their cars than themselves. Taking care of yourself requires a little bit
of work and a lot of discipline. If you are not up to it, don’t do it. After all, healthy living
and longevity is not for everyone.

Want to lose weight and keep it off? Lose it slowly. Losing one pound a week provides
the best chance of achieving long-term weight loss. Activate your metabolism by eating
three meals per day and two snacks. This will not only help you lose weight, but make it
easier to maintain the weight loss.

Ideally, women should consume 1700 calories per day, while men should eat 2000-
2200 calories per day. Do not eat products that contain hydrogenated oil. Avoiding this
oil is at the top of my list of healthy living habits.

Start your day with egg whites. They are a great source of protein and help to curb your
appetite for the rest of the day. Eat more for breakfast. A recent study suggests eating
500-600 calories for breakfast helps people lose weight. A separate study concluded
that smelling the food you eat leads to a decrease in appetite—so smell more, eat less.

Drinking water will not help you lose weight, but will help in the fat burning process.
Often people confuse weight loss and fat loss. Weight loss programs that do not include
exercise lead to weight loss, not fat loss. The outcome will be a loss of muscle mass,
resulting in increased body fat if the weight is regained.

Incorporating these lifestyle changes into your daily routine will help you lose weight,
maintain that weight loss and improve your overall health.
